Unique Mission:
The mission of the American Technical Education Association is to serve as the premier provider of professional development for postsecondary technical educators.

Goals:

Partnership and Alliances 
Collaborate with professional groups and organizations sharing common interests.
Partner with educational institutions, business, industry, labor and government to enhance workforce development strategies.

Conferences and Training Seminars 
Provide professional development for teachers, administrators, and support personnel in postsecondary technical education.
Publications and Literature 
Disseminate information regarding current issues, trends, and exemplary practices in technical education.

Image and Awareness
 
Promote high quality technical education in order to support the needs of business, industry, and
government - assisting them with productivity and competitiveness in the world marketplace.

Advocate the value of technical education to society.   
Practice and support high ethical standards.
Strive to maintain and increase membership and participation within the association

Work critically to assess association activities for continuous improvement.

Legislative Issues
 
Monitor legislative issues, prepare positions papers, and work closely with OVAE.
Advocacy for postsecondary technical education in political arena.
 
Recognition and Awards 
Recognize outstanding performance and leadership.
Support, practice, and reward integrity, effectiveness, and service as organizational values.
