ATEA National Awards are presented each year at the ATEA National Conference on Technical Education.

Outstanding Technical Teacher Award
The Outstanding Technical Teacher Award recognizes full-time postsecondary technical instructors from anywhere in the nation whose performance and contribution are exceptional.  Nominations are made by individual and institutional members of ATEA.  Innovative teaching strategies, involvement with business and industry, and positive impact on students are additional qualities needed to be considered for this award.

Outstanding Technical Student Award
The Outstanding Technical Student Award is given to an individual who is currently a full-time student in a post-secondary technical program.  The student must be very strong academically and show potential in his/her chosen technical field.  The student should also have an impact on other students and the institution.

Outstanding Technical Program Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize an outstanding technical program at a postsecondary technical education institution anywhere in the nation.  The program must be exemplary and contribute to the nation’s workforce.  Instruction in the program should be current and cutting edge.  The program’s Advisory Committee should be knowledgeable and active.  Involvement with business and industry is essential.  Program instructor(s) innovative teaching strategies and credentials will be reviewed.  Enrollment and placement will also be taken into consideration.  The program nominated must be at a school with active institutional membership in ATEA.

Outstanding Technical Education Achievement Award
The Outstanding Service Award is presented to an individual who has made contributions and achieved prominence in technical education at the local, state, regional, and national levels.  The winner will be a person who is currently in the field of postsecondary technical education or has spent a significant amount of time and energy in support of technical education.

Silver Star of Excellence Award
The Silver Star of Excellence is presented jointly by ATEA and the National Technical Honor Society . It is presented to a company that is supportive and committed to postsecondary technical education. Nominations for the award are from postsecondary technical institutions in letter form identifying specific contributions to technical education such as: donations of equipment, facilities, training, financial assistance, internships, apprenticeships, advisory committee members and the company's impact on technical education.
